Can Be Harmful: Paints can contain lead. Lead is one of the most dangerous materials associated with construction. This can lead to lead poisoning. Symptoms include (but are not limited to) headaches, nausea, and irritability. Some paints contain volatile organic compounds (VOC) that release into the air.
