One of the best summer additions your client would want to invest in is a pool. The structure and style can differ according to need. A pool is not quite the answer to the perfect outdoor scenario. You can suggest a pool house to go with the new or existing pool.

What Is A Pool House?

A pool house is an upgraded version of poolside seating. But this goes beyond just seating and relaxation. A pool house is a room/area that is made to support the pool activities. It starts at an arm’s length from the pool. The client can use this area to change in and out of swimwear, have a quick shower to rinse the chlorine water, or extend it to make a relaxation area. Pairing it with additions like an outdoor shower is advised. The infrastructure mimics a small house with its plumbing connected with the pool. Some find it extravagant, but there are benefits to making one.

Advantages

Off-Season

This doubles as a great place to store pool supplies during the off-season. A pool house helps separate the pool area completely from the house. So if your client does not want to shell out big money for this, you can suggest to them a small room with the sole function of storing all pool-related essentials. This can house current needs (extra towels, swimsuits), water pump, chemicals, and other tools for maintenance work.

Home Gym

Once they invested in this area and completed the infrastructure, it can be modified according to your client’s desires. A home gym is an addition that many owners look to undertake. This will give them an area to work with. Add features that can help both causes like big mirrors. Having the pool nearby post-workout for a quick cool down is another valid reason to go down this road.

Small Living Area

Shortage of guest rooms in the house? Make this area liveable! This will require more work setting up a full electrical system as well, but is worth the trouble for some owners. This place can act as a small living area for them or people visiting their house. Use the plumbing used for the outdoor shower and extend it indoors to make a bathroom. Divide the inside into small rooms and add a kitchen with basic elements. Use materials that can survive the harsh climate.

Garage

Since we already separated this area from the rest of the house, we can use a part of this as a garage. Separate the area in a 60:40 ratio for the garage and pool area. Create a pathway to the side that is opposite the one facing the pool. Install a mechanical door for entry. Line one side of the walls with storage options for tools and spare parts. If your client requires, you can add a workstation too. Finish with a door that leads to the relaxing area and the pool.

Pool houses can be multifunctional. Unlike pools, we can put them to use throughout the year. In case your client asks for a toned-down version of this idea, suggest them a wall-mounted gazebo. This is cheaper yet provides shade from the sun.
